Wichita weather: Windy and warm for region

Wichita will be windy and warm today under mostly sunny skies, forecasters say.

Highs should reach the low 90s, with south winds blowing steadily in the teens and gusting to nearly 30 miles an hour. Overnight lows should be in the 70s, and Tuesday should be much like today.

A slight chance of showers creeps into the forecast Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to hit the low 90s each day, before cooling slightly as Labor Day weekend approaches.
