One dead in KC building collapse

One person is dead after a two-story building partially collapsed shortly before noon between Forest and Troost Avenues in Kansas City.

Fire Department officials believe the victim was walking near the warehouse-like building when it suddenly fell, spewing cinder blocks and lumber into the street.

A witness said he heard a loud cracking noise and saw the building come down.
