Kansas State moved up to No. 12 from No. 17 in Monday's Associated Press college basketball poll after the Wildcats defeated Alabama on Saturday in Mobile, Ala.

For the first time this season Wichita State received poll votes after the Shockers posted a 85-83 win over then-No. 16 Texas Tech. The Shockers received 18 points, which equates to No. 40 if the poll were expanded out.

Kansas, the preseason No. 1, continued its perch at the top, getting 55 first-place votes.
